RuneAudio 0.3-alpha for Raspberry Pi

ACX, no problem with 0.2 beta. Just wrote "RuneAudio_rpi_0.2-beta.img" in a clean RPi SDCard, didn't touch any settings, nothing (since my USB DAC was already selected as output)... just added one samba share with minimal sample hi-res flac files and those files plays incredible fine (even via Ethernet, minor pops/clicks maybe because I’m still not using I2S). Then I burned “RuneAudio_rpi_0.3-alpha_20140710_2GB.img” again since in my current setup I have already made some changes (like git update, removed RPi output etc…). This time just added the same source/library (no other changes) and voila… 48kHz (see attached pictures while playing the same 24/192kHz file in both runeaudio versions).

what was the git update?? I mustve missed that somewhere along the way....I saw the post about using the v2 setting in v3 for a future update to fix this issue.

Got a B+ the other day. Backed up my running .3 setup from the B, restored on new sdcard, booted up fine just having troubles with wireless since it didnt kick in like I expected.

working on it now.... 🙂

EDIT: a few reboots and bam, its working....go figure

Ok, it may have a bit more power and 4 USB ports but it still doesnt have enough juice for an external USB HD which isnt the hugest problem

One thing I've noticed with 0.3 alpha (the first Rune I've been able to use) is that if I add an album to the playlist with "add, replace, play" the played tracks remain in the playlist after completion. In Volumio the get lost once they are completed; I prefer this. Hopefully Rune can do the same. In everything else I am preferring Rune to Volumio.

Thats a new feature of Rune 0.3. The 0.2 version worked like Volumio. Not sure if that could be a selection choice during setup.....over the last several days, I have gotten used to it, but do sort of like the old behavior better....I think 🙂

SMB/CIFS mount through UI fails to an OSX share.

smb.conf seems to be missing/link broken so that could be one issue I suppose. Havent had a chance to try and troubleshoot it.

Hi I'm using a direct connected HDD(with it's own PS) too and have no problem. Seemless playing :lol:

Mine worked fine, but maybe it was on the second or third attempt.

I have to use the following in "advanced options":

ro,cache=strict,dir_mode=0777,file_mode=0777,sec=ntlmssp,nounix

..and that works fine connecting to an SMB share on 10.8.5 server

Hi PhM, I think this is the same problem reported by j-b-m here, we are investigating on its cause. It seems a PHP related problem...

So it's almost certainly a kernel related issue. Please wait for the new repacked build of the 0.3-alpha (probably coming during the weekend), it will contain also the kernel version we used in the 0.2-beta (you could switch it in the Settings page).

Thanks Gary for your settings...still didnt work though, getting a Permission Denied message. Tried both Guest and my own account but neither worked properly. I'll keep digging...

Another question is where are the NFS mounts stored?? I now have 5 broken ones that I would like to delete.

Update: Gary, changing to ntlmv2 at least seems to bring up the Connecting message properly, but so far no music.....

Curious to know if there is a method to prevent MPD from looking into folders? like Android, I can add a .nomedia file and it wont try and read that directory

To exclude a file from the update, create a file called .mpdignore in its parent directory. Each line of that file may contain a list of shell wildcards.

Could you describe me the behaviour in other words? I expect from the "Add, replace and play" to see the entire queue replaced by the selected resource and to start the playback from the first entry of the new queue. Was that different before?

Also curious where the Radio stations are stored so I can edit them, although I surmise the connection to Dirble refreshes so not sure if that would "stick".

Another radio type question is I see Mopidy lurking in the back, and was curious why TuneIn radio wasnt in Rune? I can use PiBox to connect to TuneIn so figure I should be able to in Rune.....I havent swiped the connect info from PiBox yet to test, but thought I'd ask.
