I am experiencing Samba and nginx failures since yesterday with the 0.3-alpha build.
Up to yesterday I had a Raspberry Pi B which was initially setup without any DAC and to which I had applied the fix for the NAS mounts as per instructions listed earlier in this thread (as suggested, I had to run a
git reset --hard
before issuing the
git pull
command in order to avoid running into the uncommitted changes error, as reported by another tester).
Everything worked very well for a few days and the day before yesterday I received a Wolfson Card to go with the Raspberry board.
After shutting down the system and installing the card I got the whole system up and working as expected (had to switch to the Wolfson-specific kernel and select the new analog output from the card, of course).
Unfortunately, yesterday I decided to shut everything down and re-install Rune 0.3-alpha on the Raspberry B & Wolson card from scratch using the working SD card, but so far I have been unable to log into the web interface after the NAS fix is applied.
These are the repro steps:
1. New SD card with a fresh RuneAudio_rpi_0.3-alpha_20140710_2GB image
2. Initial setup
2a. Mount some external network sources via SMB/CIF (this step does not seem to affect the end result)
3. Apply the fix in order to expose NAS mounts in the NPD Library. The list of commands used is the following:
ntpdate pool.ntp.org
cd /var/www
git reset --hard
git pull
cp /var/www/app/config/_os/etc/redis.conf /etc/
systemctl restart redis
curl -s http://runeaudio/clear
systemctl restart rune_SY_wrk
systemctl restart rune_PL_wrk
4. SMB/CIF mounts are all visible in Library and content can be played
5. Reboot the system, either via Web interface or through ssh issuing a
shutdown -r now command
6. After reboot, the system in not reachable via http://<IPAddress> and is only available via ssh/putty
7. SSH-logging into the system and issuing a
systemctl command the output shows both Samba and nginx services failing:
[...]
● nginx.service loaded failed failed A high performance web serv
● nmbd.service loaded failed failed Samba NetBIOS name server
[...]
Please note that the Samba failure appears once the
systemctl restart rune_SY_wrk command is issued when patching the original 0.3-alpha install, while the nginx error apperars only after a system reboot.
This is happening with different SD cards and with different Raspberry Pi B boards, regardless of the fact the Wolfson Card is installed or not.
As this working OK a a few days ago, I was wondering if there was a commit on Git lately which might have broken the system and/or if anybody else has run into a similar issue.
Thanks.
